Thrifty Thinking: Clothing Swaps!

Looking for a fun way to clean out your closet and update your wardrobe? Try a clothing swap!

The Wardrobe Boutique, located at 1822 Spring Garden Street in Philadelphia, hosts monthly clothing swaps for women of all sizes. The first Saturday of the month is for sizes 0-10 and the third Saturday of the month is for sizes twelve and up, both sessions are from 12-2pm. I am attending my first swap on March 5 with some of my girlfriends and we can’t wait to see what we find!

The swaps are held in the Community Room at The Wardrobe Boutique. At the swaps, attendees trade items with one another and items that are left over can be donated to The Career Wardrobe. The Career Wardrobe is the nation’s largest independent, community-based non-profit organization serving women transitioning into the workforce by providing professional attire. There is no admission fee for the monthly swaps, but reservations are required. After you RSVP simply show up on the day with a minimum of five items of clothing and get to swapping!

Planning a Girl’s Night Out? A swap party is a creative, fun, and inexpensive way to catch up with your girlfriends. If you are interested in hosting your own party just pick a date, contact The Wardrobe Boutique to schedule, and then invite your friends! It is that simple! Just make a $5 donation fee to The Career Wardrobe upon arrival.
